The Golden State Warriors may finally answer the question, “How do you solve a problem like Chris Paul?”
Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated appeared on Vincent Goodwill's “Good Word With Goodwill” program this week.
“I do expect him to start,” Spears said of Paul. “I think in five-minute bursts. I doubt they want his minutes high. I believe they will try it... Not an opinion, but what I'm hearing he'll start.”
The Warriors dealt Paul to the Wizards this summer for Jordan Poole. Many are still wary of the fit, and rightly so.
Paul, 38, is approaching fossil status, and his slow, precise style doesn't fit the Warriors' fast-paced, free-flowing offense led by Steph Curry.
Now that Paul is on the roster, designating him a notional starter and only using him for five-minute cameos at the start and end of quarters may be optimal.
It should also please Paul, who has started 1,363 of his 1,363 career games (regular season and playoffs) and seems to expect it to continue in Golden State.
