Woods signed a long-term deal with 2K to utilize his name and likeness in the PGA Tour 2K franchise, which debuted in 2020 with Justin Thomas on the cover.
PGA Tour 2K will have Woods as executive director and consultant. The company is also working with his TGR Foundation, which aids youngsters with STEM classes and other educational activities.

Woods has been absent from video games since his 2013 EA Sports contract ended. EA Sports released a Woods golf game in 1998.
McIlroy replaced Woods as the video game franchise's face in 2015. After that, EA Sports didn't develop golf games.
PGA Tour 2K21 may feature Woods as a downloadable character, but the business may wait until 2K22 to put him on the cover.
The announcement comes as Woods recovers from a Los Angeles vehicle crash last month. Police are investigating the crash.
