Keanu Reeves begged for John Wick to be ‘definitively’ killed off in ‘Chapter 4’ after becoming exhausted.

After avenging a dead puppy, the hero ate it in the fourth part. Or did?

The burial in John Wick: Chapter 4 left it unclear if Keanu Reeves' unretired assassin was dead.

After 4 made money, actor and filmmakers considered retconning the death for Chapter 5.

It sounds like Reeves was ready to retire his newest successful franchise character.

Franchise producer Basil Iwanyk told Collider (via Deadline) that Reeves was ready for a break.

“After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movie, making these films is so exhausting and destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally,” Iwanyk remarked.

We agree with him when he says, ‘I can’t do this again,’ towards the end.

He's a shell because he just goes for it.

He said, ‘I wanna be definitively dead at the end of this movie.’

He and series director Chad Stahleski are “getting together to figure out what that story is” for the fifth film, which they hadn't planned.
